Allotments
All Parish Councils have the power to provide allotments for residents. Should a Parish not have allotments and residents request the provision of them then the Council has a duty to consider providing allotments if at all possible.Burstow Parish Council has two allotment sites within its boundary.
A site with 18 plots is located on Plough Road, near to the village centre. A second area is on the old Hunters Moon site bordering Copthorne. This has 37 plots which again are all being used.
The plots are measured in 'rods' with sizes ranging from 2.5 rods to 9. The cost per rod is £2 with an average annual charge of £20 per allotment.
Currently all workable allotment plots are let to the public. The Parish Council has a waiting list and when a plot becomes available it is allocated strictly by order of the waiting list.
